About Mchakamchaka
Mchackamchaka (pronouced mm-cha-kahmm-cha-ka, or mm-cha-ka for short) is a jogging and singing tradition originally from central Tanzania.
Originally used by students to start the day, it's a civilian twist on the military cadences many people are familiar with.
Originally in the Swahili language and transplanted to the USA by Kido Kidolezi, people have started "run mchaka" all over the world, adding songs from other languages and contexts: pop songs, worksongs, and original songs just for running.
